# How do I add the "Start a return or exchange" button to my Shopify Order or Order Status page?
## Let customers start a return or exchange straight from their order page using the EcoReturns theme block.
This guide shows you how to add the EcoReturns **Start a return or exchange** button to your Shopify **Order** or **Order Status** page. Your customers can then start a return or exchange straight from their order.
Before you begin
- You need access to your Shopify admin with permission to edit the online store theme.
- The EcoReturns app must be installed on your store.
Steps
### 1. Open the Shopify theme editor
1. Log in to your **Shopify admin**.
2. In the left sidebar, find **Online Store**.
3. Click the **Edit** icon next to **Online Store**. The theme editor opens.
### 2. Switch to Checkout and customer accounts
1. In the header at the top of the theme editor, click the **page selector** dropdown.
2. Select **Checkout and customer accounts**.
### 3. Choose the Order or Order Status page
1. Click the same **page selector** dropdown again.
2. Select the page where you want the button:
- **Order** — the order details page in the customer's account.
- **Order Status** — the page customers see after placing an order.
### 4. Add the EcoReturns block
1. In the left sidebar, find the **Main** section.
2. Click **Add block**.
3. Select **EcoReturns Return/Exchange Button**.
The button is added to the page you selected.
### 5. Save your changes
Click **Save** in the top-right corner of the theme editor to publish the button.
Tips
- To show the button on both pages, repeat steps 3–5 for the other page.
- If you don't see **EcoReturns Return/Exchange Button** under **Add block**, make sure the EcoReturns app is installed and enabled, then reload the theme editor.
